TACLOBAN CITY – Suspected shabu worth over P387 million was seized at Liloan Port in Liloan, Southern Leyte on Friday, Nov. 8.
The contraband was discovered by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency VIII-Seaport Interdiction Unit-Southern Leyte during an inspection of a vehicle that arrived from Surigao City on board a fast craft.
Fifty-seven teabags of shabu weighing a total of 57 kilograms valued at P387.6 million were found.
No arrests were made but authorities have identified the driver of the vehicle whose name appears on the manifest.
The suspect faces drug-related charges.
The PDEA was backed by the Liloan Municipal Police Station, Maritime Police, Philippine Ports Authority-Liloan, Philippine Coast Guard-Liloan, and the Southern Leyte Provincial Office.
