Iloilo City police seize P32.7-M shabu in October


ILOILO CITY – Police in this city confiscated 4.8 kilos of suspected shabu valued at P32.7 million in 56 anti-drug operations from Oct. 1 to 31.

The Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Capt. Ryan Inot seized the largest volume – 2.6 kilos worth P17.7 million.

Police Station 1 led by Police Capt. Roque Gimeno III recovered the largest volume among the 10 police stations with 668 grams valued at P4.5 million.

Eighty-two suspected drug pushers were apprehended. Thirty suspects were classified as high-value individuals and 52 were street-level individuals.

ICPO chief Police Col. Kim Legada cited operating units for their achievements.

“These achievements reflect your dedication and commitment to your sworn duties to protect our community from the harms of illegal drugs,” Legada said.

Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO information officer, said they will continue their anti-drug operations even as the holidays approaches.
