The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has averted what could have been a serious printing problem of certificates of registration of motor vehicles similar to the challenge it faced on driver’s license.

On Thursday, LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II heaved a sigh of relief after a large volume of security paper being used in the printing of certificates of registration was finally delivered.

“We already resolved this problem of shortage of security paper. These will be delivered to our regional offices starting next week,” said Mendoza.

Mendoza immediately issued a guideline on how every LTO office should deal with the problem as soon as he monitored that the supply of security paper was already depleting as early as August this year.

Part of the expected problem is the printing of the certificates of registration to a bond paper, which some of LTO clients have already experienced in the past few weeks.

Mendoza said the number of security papers delivered is sufficient to cover motor vehicle registration and other transactions for a few months.

With the delivery, he said he will issue another memorandum for the scheduling of the printing of the bond-paper printed certificate of registration and other documents.

Mendoza said all LTO-Regional Directors have already been notified to prepare for the printing of those printed on bond paper, including the dissemination of information to their clients.
