“Our goal is to create inclusive and accessible public spaces that meet the diverse needs of our communities. These buildings will significantly enhance the quality of life for residents in these areas,” said DPWH-6 Regional Director Sanny Boy Oropel.

The construction of the four MPBs are being undertaken by the DPWH Capiz 1st District Engineering Office.

“This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve accessibility and functionality in public infrastructure,” said Oropel.

Two MPBs are under construction in Maayon town. With a budget of P4.9 million each, these are located in Barangays Guia and Tuburan. These will be equipped with restrooms, office spaces, and ramps for senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The third MPB, costing P4.9 million, is being constructed in Panay town. This facility will have restrooms on each floor, office spaces, and ramps catering to the needs of senior citizens and PWDs.

The fourth MPB is in Pilar town. The P4.7-million MPB is under construction in Barangay Poblacion. Similar to the three other MPBs, this building will feature restrooms, office spaces, and ramps.
