Romualdez hails congressional spouses' art exhibit for a cause

Speaker Martin Romualdez has commended the Congressional Spouses Foundation, Inc. (CSFI) for organizing the “Philippines’ Finest 2024” art and fashion exhibit, which seeks not only to celebrate Filipino artistry but also to support the healthcare of soldiers and help victims of severe tropical storm "Kristine".

In his message during the opening ceremony of the exhibit last Monday, Nov. 4, Speaker Romualdez expressed his gratitude to the CSFI for its dedication to initiating opportunities where people can contribute to meaningful projects that benefit society.

CSFI is chaired by the Speaker’s wife, Tingog Partylist Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez.

“This particular initiative is particularly special, promising better health care in the very near future for the brave men and women of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” said the Speaker, leader of the 300-plus strong House of Representatives.

The CSFI exhibit, held in cooperation with Sentro Artista represented by its co-founder Jay Ruiz, showcases a variety of artworks, fashion and home accessories from talented local artisans and designers.

Proceeds of the exhibit are intended to support the construction of the Casualty and Cancer Care Center at the AFP Medical Center in Quezon City and help people in areas devastated by Kristine.

Speaker Romualdez encouraged attendees to support the noble cause by purchasing artwork, noting that each contribution directly benefits the country's soldiers and Kristine victims.

“It is one way to express our gratitude for the sacrifices our soldiers make, to ensure that we can sleep soundly at night, knowing we have protectors who keep watch over us,” Speaker Romualdez said.

“To the artists and fashion designers participating in this exhibit, thank you for your generosity, for sharing your talent and creativity. Art should embody our collective dreams and aspirations, moving everyone to take action,” he added.

Speaker Romualdez expressed his full support for the CSFI and its continuous dedication to public service.

“To the CSFI, please do continue this tradition of public service excellence. Know that these activities have my unqualified backing.”

The art exhibit is open to the public, offering an opportunity for all to enjoy and support Filipino artistry while contributing to a cause that honors the courage and sacrifices of the country’s armed forces and provide aid as well to victims of natural calamities.
