Man shot dead in street food stand


CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A man was shot dead in a street food stand in Purok 2, Barangay Lingga, this city, on Tuesday evening, Nov. 5.

Police identified the fatality as Carlo L. Belarmino.

Investigation said the victim was about to buy street food when an unidentified man appeared and shot him.

Belarmino died on the spot and a bystander, Mark Anthony Laguerta, was wounded by stray bullet and taken to a hospital.

The suspect fled and follow-up investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, a vendor and his live-in partner were shot and wounded in Sitio Sampaloc Lakers, Barangay Malabanban Norte, Candelaria, Quezon, on Tuesday night.

Police identified the victims as Jose Z. Abordo, 43, and Odesa C. Villena, 43.

Investigation said the victims were sleeping in their house when unidentified persons knocked on the door.

The victims opened the door and were shot several times. The suspects fled toward the direction of Malabanban Sur in Candelaria and the victims were taken to  a hospital.

Police recovered six fired cartridge cases for caliber. 45, a live 9mm bullet, and a fired caliber 9mm cartridge case.

The gunmen, whose motive is yet to be determined, face double frustrated murder cases.
