Lyn, a Filipino-American, said she voted for Harris because she believes she is giving Americans a better deal.

John McGuinness, Emily Eason, and Melissa Greenberg also voted for Harris while Ed Gordon picked Cornel West, a philosopher and independent presidential candidate.

McGuinness expressed belief that there will be no trouble, at least in the capital city, particularly coming from the supporters of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Eason, who voted for Harris, said it would be an honor for her to have voted for who could be the US’ first female president, and looks forward to peace, more collaboration, and prosperity happening under a Harris administration.

Greenberg also voted for Harris and said she liked Harris.

The Stead Recreation Center polling station opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.

Election officials here are optimistic that the results may be known by Wednesday evening.

Based on the initial tally from a tiny New Hampshire township of Dixville Notch, Harris and Trump tied with three votes each.

Harris will hold her election watch at the Howard University while Trump will hold his from his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.
