Coast Guard in Cagayan monitoring ‘Marce’


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Philippine Coast Guard Station Cagayan and its sub-stations in this province are closely monitoring typhoon "Marce" (international name “Yinxing”).

They have implemented a “no sail policy” in their areas of responsibility as Marce approached and closely coordinating with the provincial government and municipal governments for preparations.

An emergency session was held in Aparri led by Mayor Bryan Dale G. Chan.

Mayor Licerio M. Antiporda III of Buguey led a pre-disaster risk assessment meeting with local agencies and Coast Guard personnel.

Other agencies and local government units in this province are also conducting meetings on Marce.

The Coast Guard has issued safety advisories to fishermen and boat owners and patrolling shorelines in preparation for the Marce.
