On the sidelines of the meet-and-greet for the new NPD Officer-in-Charge at the NPD Headquarters in Caloocan, OIC Col. Josefino Ligan emphasized the reminder to the public.
“Well, lalo na doon sa immediate family. Concern ng immediate family is to look for the welfare of their members. So, if ever... bantayan nila ang isa't isa. At tingnan ‘yung welfare ng bawat miyembro sa pamilya (Well, especially with the immediate family. The concern of the immediate family is to look after the welfare of their members. They should look out for each other and check on each other's welfare),” Ligan said to Manila Bulletin.
"And if, in any case, they unintentionally go missing, we will help with the search," he added to assure the public that they have a dedicated task force focused on missing persons.
Meanwhile, Ligan confirmed that there have recently been 11 reports of missing persons, with six cases resolved after the individuals were found, leaving five people still missing.
“Yes, there actually is. As far as I know, the alert for six missing persons has been lifted—they have returned and been found. The last count shows there are still about five missing persons, as far as I can tell,” he said.
He then pointed out that the police are continuously investigating the remaining five cases and coordinating with the families.
