Iloilo City cops net P1.8-M shabu in 24 hours


ILOILO CITY – More than P1.8-million worth of suspected shabu was seized from six suspected drug pushers in buy-bust operations here during a 24-hour period.

The Iloilo City Police Office conducted the operations from 5 a.m. on Nov. 4 to 5 a.m. on Nov. 5 that yielded 263 grams of shabu.

“This shows that our commitment to protecting the community from illegal drugs remains steadfast,” said ICPO chief Police Col. Kim Legada.

The Police Station 9 led by Police Major Eduardo Siacon Jr. nabbed three suspects, Gary and two minors, and 130 grams of shabu valued at P884,000 was recovered in Jaro District on Tuesday.

The Police Station 1 led by Police Capt. Roque Gimeno III seized P544,000 worth of shabu from Ricky in City Proper District.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Police Capt. Ryan Inot seized around P340,000 worth of shabu in Molo District from Lito.

 The Police Station 6 led by Police Capt. Benjie Dicen recovered shabu worth P20,400 from Nonoy in Mandurriao District.

Suspects face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
