Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. announced that, under his leadership over the past two years, the agency has achieved three major certifications, marking significant milestones in service and operational standards.
The BIR received a 100 percent Nationwide ISO Certification for its key services, the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) Maturity Level II Accreditation, and the National Privacy Commission (NPC) Seal of Registration.
With these achievements, the BIR is now the first government agency in the country to achieve full ISO Certification for services nationwide, underscoring its commitment to quality management.
The ISO Certification, recognized internationally, establishes that the BIR provides efficient and high-quality services that meet both customer and regulatory expectations.
The CSC’s PRIME-HRM framework aims to elevate human resource management across government agencies, and this Level II Accreditation empowers the BIR to streamline hiring by enabling regional directors to directly appoint entry-level positions.
In line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, the BIR also secured the NPC Seal of Registration, reflecting its dedication to upholding privacy standards.
“Achieving these three seals of excellence in just two years is a milestone,” said Lumagui, who emphasized the importance of ongoing improvement and innovation in the agency’s pursuit of good governance.
