Man arrested for illegal possession of firearm inside public cemetery

A 25 year-old man was arrested for illegal possession of firearm by members of the Pasay City Police Station Intelligence Section (SIS) during their inspection operations inside the Pasay City Public Cemetery on November 1.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director, Brigadier Gen. Bernard Yang, said the suspect identified as alias “Kalbo” was arrested after police found a .45 caliber pistol from his possession.

Yang said Pasay City Police Chief, Col. Samuel Pabonita, reported the arrest of Kalbo at around 9 p.m. inside the cemetery located at Sgt. Mariano, Pasay City.

Pabonita said members of SIS acted immediately after receiving information that Kalbo was carrying a firearm inside the cemetery.

He said SIS operatives who were conducting patrol to ensure peaceful observance of Undas 2024 approached the suspect wo tried to elude the arrest but was prevented. 

The suspect and the confiscated firearm was immediately brought to the SIS for documentation and referred the case to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS).
