Laborer shot dead in store in Quezon


CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 30-year-old laborer was shot dead in a store on All Souls’ Day in Barangay Malabanban Sur here.

Police identified the victim as a Daniel Aguilar, single.

Investigation said Aguilar was buying soft drinks in the store when a man appeared and shot him. He died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

The suspect fled towards the Candelaria bypass road on board a motorcycle.

Police found five fired .45 caliber cartridge cases in the crime scene and conducting follow-up investigation.

Laguna

A man was gunned down in a commercial complex in Santa Rosa City, Laguna on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Police identified the victim as Omar.

Omar met the suspect Jojo, a resident of Barangay Pooc, Santa Rosa City, Laguna, and a heated argument erupted over a previous misunderstanding.

Jojo drew a gun and shot Omar several times. The victim died on the spot.

A bystander, Obet Arcita, 57, was wounded by stray bullets and taken to the hospital.

Jojo fled and police are conducting a manhunt against him.

Pinned to death

A farmer was pinned to death by a fallen tree at the height of severe tropical storm “Kristine” in San Pablo City, Laguna.

The victim was identified as Jaime April, single.

A neighbor, Gabriel Aloy, noticed an unpleasant odor from the victim’s shanty on Nov. 2. 

Aloy and his neighbors checked on the victim and saw him and his house pinned by a tree.

Police said April was last seen alive before Kristine struck.
