'Culinary Class Wars' tops survey for favorite TV, OTT shows in October

Netflix’s Korean cooking survival show “Culinary Class Wars” is the No. 1 favorite TV and streaming platform program for October.

Polling firm Gallup Korea released the results of its monthly survey for October to know the favorite broadcast video programs (excluding news) in South Korea.

Gallup Korea conducted the survey from Oct. 21 to 24 among 1,001 respondents aged 18 and above nationwide in Korea.

The survey results showed “Culinary Class Wars” is the No. 1 most favorite TV, OTT program in October with 7.8 percent.

This is the second straight month that “Culinary Class Wars” topped the Gallup Korea survey. In September, it got 5.2 percent to become the No. 1 favorite TV, OTT show in South Korea.

Voted as the No. 2 favorite TV, OTT program in October was actress Kim Tae-ri’s drama “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” with 4.4 percent.

In third place is the reality TV show “I Live Alone” with 3.4 percent followed by the variety show “Three Meals a Day: Light” with 3.2 percent.

Disney+ and SBS’ “The Judge from Hell,” starring Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young, is No. 5 with 2.8 percent.

Here are the top 20 favorite TV, OTT shows in South Korea in October, according to Gallup Korea:

1. Culinary Class Wars (variety, Netflix) - 7.8%

2. Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born (drama / tvN, Disney+) - 4.4%

3. I Live Alone (variety / MBC) - 3.4%

4. Three Meals a Day: Light (variety / tvN) - 3.2%

5. The Judge from Hell (drama / SBS, Disney+) - 2.8%

6. Iron Family (drama / KBS2) - 2.7%

8. Doubt (drama, MBC) - 2.6%
