Former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson (middle) offers himself to be a catalyst of love and forgiveness between Olympic hero Carlos Yulo and his family in father Andrew (second from left), Angelica (third from left), Elaiza (second from right), and Eldrew (right).

Singson, who is running for a senatorial seat in the 2025 mid-term elections, said "no amount of success should overshadow one's love and respect" as the rift between Carlos and his parents Angelica and and Mark Andrew now stretches for months and was amplified after the gymnast's Paris Olympics conquest last July.

Singson is hoping for Carlos and the older Yulos to reunite in the name of forgiveness.

The prolific gymnast won the gold medal in floor exercise and vault in Paris, with the monetary incentives he has earned breaching P100 million.

His younger brother, Karl, is also an accomplished young athlete after turning heads in Thailand recently.
