Actress Abby Viduya, who became Mrs. Yllana after tying the knot last year, shares her honest thoughts about having a child with her husband Jomari.
During her interview with Aster Amoyo on TicTalk, Abby revealed that she has decided not to have more children following her experience of two miscarriages.
"Ayoko na tita my God [laughs], I'm turning 48 this year. Kasi the last time we tried, we lost the baby. I don't want to experience it again, kasi it's the second time it happened," Abby said.
(I no longer want this, Tita. My God, I'm turning 48 this year. The last time we tried, we lost the baby, and I don't want to experience that again since it has happened twice.)
Although the stakes are high for having a child together, Abby stated that their existing children from past relationships are sufficient.
"With Jom [Jomari] and I, we have our kids. I think that's enough Jom and I, we will just enjoy our lives and what he says naman, 'It's like having a little girl, I have you sabi niya sa akin. And then, sabi ko, okay it's like having a panganay because I have you," Abby added.
(With Jom (Jomari) and me, we have our kids. I think that's enough for us; we will just enjoy our lives together. He once said, 'It's like having a little girl; I have you.' I replied that it feels like having a firstborn because I have him.)
Giving love a second chance
Abby and Jomari dated in their youth and reunited nearly 30 years later. Abby believes that starting as friends first strengthens their relationship.
"During the time of our friendship, we can tell each other anything and I think ayun yung foundation ng relationship namin because we're really good friends. We don't judge each other for what we did in the past," Abby said.
(During our friendship, we can share anything, which I believe is the foundation of our relationship. We are very good friends and do not judge each other for our pasts.)
As their relationship progressed, Abby decided to return to the Philippines to see Jomari for the first time after taking a break from showbiz. Abby expressed that during that period, she experienced mixed emotions.
"Mixed feelings ako that time, pero I think the more excitement is that I'm going to see him na. It was kilig and takot at the same time, and the first thing Jom did was niyakap niya ako," Abby said.
(I had mixed feelings at that time, but the excitement of seeing him now outweighed everything else. It was thrilling yet frightening at the same time. The first thing Jom did when we met was hug me.)
After four years of dating, Jomari proposed to Abby in Hong Kong and the two said their "I do's" in Las Vegas on Nov. 5. According to Abby they are also planning to have a church wedding in 2025.
