Agoda reveals top inbound tourist markets for Philippines this December

The Philippines is poised for a bustling holiday season as international tourist interest surges, with digital travel platform Agoda reporting a 13 percent year-on-year increase in accommodation searches for December.

Based on Agoda’s latest accommodation search data, travelers from South Korea, the United States, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, respectively, topped the list for December holiday stay searches in the Philippines.

Agoda's latest accommodation search data also indicated a notable increase in searches from these markets.

"With its combination of beautiful destinations, unique cultural celebrations, and tropical climate, the Philippines draws visitors from around the world during the holiday season," Michael Hwang, Agoda Philippines country director, said.

"This year, we've seen interest rise, especially from markets like South Korea and the United States. It's an exciting time for the Philippines, with the tourism industry set to end the year on a high note," he added.

The Philippines' diverse offerings, ranging from world-renowned beaches to vibrant holiday traditions, make it an ideal destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and cultural immersion, Agoda said.

As global travelers seek diverse experiences, the country's unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness positions it as an attractive choice, it added.

The ranking is based on accommodation searches conducted on Agoda’s platform in August 2024 for check-in dates between Dec. 1 and 31, 2024.
