A Canadian trade mission composed of a "powerhouse delegation" is coming to the Philippines next week to promote business opportunities in Canada, the country's ambassador to Manila announced Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Canadian Ambassador David Hartman said business representatives, entrepreneurs and industry officials will arrive in the Philippines as they have expressed interest in strengthening trade cooperation with the country that is "one of the fastest-growing economies in all of Asia."
Hartman cited the country's young and tech-savvy, English-speaking population and the recent economic reforms that have created a "welcoming environment for Canadian businesses of all sizes."
The ambassador said that investors from the agriculture, agrifood, information communications technology and clean technology sectors are interested in partnering with the Philippines businesses.
"We also see lots of opportunities in defense, security, aerospace and education," he added.
Hartman vouched for Canadian business because he said they are a "responsible, trusted and reliable partner that is genuinely looking at developing a win-win partnership."
"Local Philippines businesses would also benefit from working with top Canadian companies that hold solutions that very much correspond to the needs of this market," he said.
"In fact partnering with Canadian businesses means that you as Philippine business will enhance your competitive edge," Hartman added.
