Livestock vendor, jobless man gunned down in Quezon


CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 40-year-old livestock seller and a 38-year-old jobless man were gunned down in separate incidents here on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Police identified the victims as Ericson H. Amol, livestock seller, and Alberto Q. Braga, jobless.

Amol was purchasing fried chicken in a stall when a man appeared from behind and shot him twice in the head.

Amol died on the spot and Merlinda C. Corlet, 57, vendor, was wounded by a stray bullet.

Corlet was taken to a hospital and the suspect wearing an orange T-shirt and maong pants fled on foot towards Barangay Bukal Sur here.

Braga was shot dead in Barangay San Isidro by two gunmen wearing black jackets. 

The suspects fled onboard separate motorcycles toward Barangay  Manggalang Bantilan, Sariaya, Quezon.

Braga was declared dead in a hospital in San Juan, Batangas.

Meanwhile, a 48-year-old farmer was shot dead in Sitio Silangan, Barangay Calubcub 1st, San Juan, Batangas on Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as Dennis.

Investigation said that the suspects, Apolonio and Joselito, arrived onboard separate motorcycles and called the victim.

Apolonio drew a short firearm and shot the victim in the presence of his family.

Dennis was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. The suspects fled toward the national highway.

Three fired .45 caliber cartridge cases were recovered from the crime scene. 

Police are conducting follow-up investigation on the three cases.
