Adamson University rode on its third-quarter attack to trounce University of the East, 68-55, and punch its Final Four ticket in the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament at Mall of Asia Arena Wednesday evening, Nov. 27.
The Soaring Falcons built enough separation in the third period thanks to Cedrick Manzano's herculean effort and countered the Red Warriors' last-ditch attempt to turn things around.
The win gave Adamson the last semifinal slot where it will face reigning champion De La Salle in a twice-to-win series.
It also Adamson's third playoff game -- for fourth place -- in third straight season.
Match is set Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum along with the other pairing featuring UP and UST.
Manzano became the go-to guy for the Falcons as he tallied a double-double output of 17 points and 10 rebounds on top four assists, two blocks and two steals.
Matthew Montebon also shone with 13 markers along with six assists and three boards while Joshua Yerro cashed in seven as the two guards drilled the dagger triples that killed the Warriors' hopes.
Precious Momowei, who was stretchered out in the 3:25 mark of the payoff period, put up 10 points and 11 rebounds while Jack Cruz-Dumont, Rainer Maga and John Abate added 15, 10 and 10, markers, respectively.
