A 49-year-old contractor was arrested by operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) in Malabon City on Monday, Nov. 26.

The suspect, identified as alias Vin, who was a resident of Malabon, was arrested by officers from the MPD Special Operations Unit (DSOU) under the leadership of Lt. Col. Romel Anicete.

The MPDSOU chief said the suspect was among the top wanted individuals in the MPD's list and ranked second on the list of most wanted person in the district level.

The arrest of the suspect was part of the MPD’s Oplan Search and Pursuit initiative with support from various law enforcement units.

Lt. Col. Anicete, the newly appointed chief of the MPD Special Operations Unit, said his unit is focused on targeting high-profile suspects and ensuring the swift application of justice.

The suspect is currently detained at the Manila City Jail and will face charges under the Revised Penal Code for Acts of Lasciviousness (Article 336), in relation to Section 5 (B) of Republic Act 7610 and a separate rape charge, which have been the subject of extensive investigation by the MPD.
