Big Hit Music, home to K-pop groups BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, announced on Nov. 26 that it has appointed Shin Seon-jeong as the next president.
Shin Seon-jeong (신선정) is the current general manager of the label and her appointment as the next president was approved during a shareholders’ meeting and through a board of directors resolution on Nov. 26.
As an industry veteran with over 14 years of experience at HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment), Shin Seon-jeong was instrumental in the creation and early success of BTS.

Serving as the head of Training & Development (T&D) center most recently, she also played a pivotal role in shaping and debuting other prominent HYBE artists, such as TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, and &TEAM.
She led the selection of trainees and implemented tailored T&D programs for each HYBE label, with an emphasis on maintaining the authenticity and individuality of the artists. Her comprehensive approach has helped shape well-rounded artists, contributing to their global success.
In addition, she played an integral part in expanding HYBE’s training system into the North American market, helping shape the debut of global sensation KATSEYE, HYBE’s first global girl group in partnership with Geffen Records.
In recognition of her contributions to the industry, Shin Seon-jeong was named in the 2022 Billboard 40 Under 40, a list honoring young leaders under 40 who shape the global music industry.
She was additionally included in Billboard's Women in Music in 2023, which celebrated the most influential female powerhouses driving change in the music landscape.
Leveraging her extensive experience and expertise in the industry, she is poised to lead the continued growth of Big Hit Music. With firsthand experience navigating the challenges of a rapidly scaling organization, Shin will drive the label’s strategic initiatives, optimize its operations, and further strengthen its global competitiveness.
Meanwhile, Young Jae Shin, who served as the president of Big Hit Music since 2020, will now focus on his role as the president of HYBE MUSIC GROUP APAC, overseeing all music label operations in Korea and Japan.
He will optimize regional operations, reallocate resources, and enhance music service capabilities to elevate the global competitiveness of HYBE artists.
