Presidential son, Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos has led his fellow Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) stalwart in the House of Representatives in expressing their support for Speaker Martin Romualdez amid Vice President Sara Duterte attacks against the latter and the institution.

"In solidarity, we rally behind the Honorable Speaker, fully confident that he will continue to lead our nation with compassion for the people, respect for the rule of law, vigilance in safeguarding our country and countrymen, and renewed vigor in steering our national policy toward the path of economic and moral recovery," read the statement of support that the party shared on social media Monday afternoon, Nov. 25

It added, "We strongly and unequivocally condemn any attacks against our democracy and reject all forms of violence, threats, or actions that jeopardize the safety of our people and the stability of our nation."

That same afternoon, at the plenary hall, Romualdez delivered a fiery speech wherein he vowed to defend the honor and integrity of the House.

Earlier, Vice President Duterte brazenly defied House rules and camped out at the House of Representatives from Thursday night to Saturday morning in a bid to accompany her detained chief-of-staff, Zuleika Lopez.

During this period, Duterte also held a press conference within Batasan complex wherein she confessed to tapping an assassin to target Romualdez, President Marcos, and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in the event that she gets slain herself.

Romualdez described the death threats as both "alarming and unprecedented”, as well as "reckless and dangerous".

Rep. Marcos is the senior deputy majority leader in the House in the current 19th Congress. PFP is chaired by his father, President Marcos.

Attaching their names to the statement of support aside from Rep. Marcos were Reps. Florida "Rida" Robes (lone district, City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan); Rosanna "Ria" Vergara (3rd district, Nueva Ecija); Leody "Odie" Tarriela (lone district, Occidental Mindoro); Isidro Lumayag (1st district, South Cotabato); Marlyn Primicias-Agabas (6th district, Pangasinan); Richard Gomez (4th district, Leyte); Linabelle Ruth Villarica (4th district, Bulacan); Ralph Wendel Tulfo (2nd district, Quezon City); Horacio Suansing Jr. (2nd district, Sultan Kudarat); Eulogio Rodriguez (lone district, Catanduanes), and Maria Jamina Katherine Agarao (4th district, Laguna).

The Romualdez-led Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) is the biggest coalition partner of PFP.
