Students, park goers mark drug prevention month by fun run in QC


Students and parkgoers in Quezon City observed the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) month by joining the “BIDA Ka daBarkads! Takbo Laban sa Droga: Malusog na Pangangatawan at Matalas na Kaisipan,” fun run at Quezon Memorial Circle on Saturday, Nov. 23.

According to Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, the program began with a performance by E. Rodriguez Jr. High School Chorale, led by Jonathan Vinluan, followed by a Zumba warm-up. 

He added that students who participated received freebies from the city’s partners and had the chance to join in raffle prizes.

As the fun run was also open to the public, Sotto said that some passersby also joined the activity added energy, and contributed to the success of the program.

The vice mayor also extended gratitude to the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Victoria Sorne, Dir. Emerson Rosales of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Col. Rommel Labalan of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
