2 nabbed for illegal possession of firearms during ‘Oplan Sita’ in Pasay City

Two individuals were arrested by Pasay City Police Substation 3 during the conduct of “Oplan Sita”  for illegal possession of firearms on Saturday, Nov. 23.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspects were identified as alias “Michael,” 38, a ride-hailing app rider, and alias “Paul,” 33, a tricycle driver.

The police said the suspects were arrested at around 1:00 a.m. at the corner of F.B. Harrison and EDSA, Brgy. 75, Pasay City. 

The police said members of the Pasay City Police Substation 3 who were conducting “Oplan Sita” along Park Avenue, Barangay 75, Pasay City flagged down the suspects and instead of stopping the suspects accelerated their motorcycle in trying to evade the inspection.

A brief chase was followed and during the conduct of inspection, the police found in the possession of Michael was a .9mm pistol with two ammunitions and a .22 caliber revolver in the possession of Paul with three ammunitions.

The suspects were detained at the police custodial facility and charged with violations of Article 151 (Disobedience to Person in Authority) of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act of 2013.
