A total of P51.14 billion worth of illegal drugs, laboratory equipment and controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPEC) were seized so far under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong’’ Marcos Jr., the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
In the latest "The Numbers of the National Anti-Drug Campaign" report, the PDEA said that 6,554.59 kilograms (kgs) of shabu; 75.70 of cocaine; 5,772.68 kgs of marijuana; and, 115,081 pieces of ecstasy were confiscated since July 1, 2022.
The PDEA report also indicated that 7,567 high-value targets (HVTs) were arrested in 87,802 anti-drug operations conducted by the various government authorities nationwide.
During the 87,802 anti-drug operations in the said period, government authorities dismantled 1,217 drug dens and two clandestine laboratories.
With the government’s relentless anti-drug operations, the PDEA noted that 29,211 barangays are now drug-cleared as only 6,292 barangays remain drug affected.
A drug-cleared barangay refers to a village that was previously classified as drug-affected and underwent a barangay drug clearing program. Their status as "cleared" will be declared by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC).
In totality, the PDEA report disclosed that a total of 119,022 drug personalities were nabbed during the said period.
