Brooke Van Sickle displayed another fiery performance as Petro Gazz swept Farm Fresh, 25-21, 25-17, 25-19, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Candon City Civic Center in Ilocos Sur on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Van Sickle waxed hot at the attack line and pumped in 19 kills to finish with 20 points as the Angels picked up their second win in three starts.
The victory somehow erased Petro Gazz’s pain from last week’s three-set loss to Creamline, where Van Sickle’s 18-point production went to naught.
Myla Pablo also flashed her vintage form and unloaded 11 points including two blocks, while Aiza Pontillas poured nine attacks to finish with 10 points.
The Angels took advantage of the Foxies’ erratic plays, grabbing 21 points off the latter’s errors, while overpowering them on all departments particularly in attacks, 47-40.
Trisha Tubu did all her best to carry the fight for Farm Fresh by unleashing 14 points, but it was not enough to lift them to the winning column.
The Foxies absorbed their second straight win in as many outings to join the Nxled Chameleons at the cellar.
In the other game, Creamline survived a close opening set before pouncing on Akari, 26-24, 25-17, 25-16, for its second straight win.
Jema Galanza and Bea De Leon conspired for 22 of the team’s 50 attacks to finish with 13 and 12 points, respectively, in leading the Cool Smashers to a share of the lead with the Cignal HD Spikers and the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
Akari fell to 2-1 and tied with Choco Mucho at third.
