Pasig court grants Quiboloy's request to extend medical furlough
A Pasig City court on Friday, Nov. 22, approved Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader and founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy's request for an extended medical furlough until Nov. 27 following an infection on his dental implants that affected his jaw.

Quiboloy's lawyer, Attorney Israelito Torreon, confirmed the court's decision after the hearing.
"It was approved until Wednesday. Mataas na diskusyon po pero na-approved naman. There will be medical furlough for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy (It was approved until Wednesday. It has been a long and tedious discussion but it was still approved. There will be medical furlough for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy)," Torreon said.
“As to the details of which, I cannot disclose because I think you know the nature of the proceedings of this case,” he added.
After being detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame, the televangelist was brought to the Philippine Heart Center on Nov. 8 after complaining of chest pains the day before.
“Last Nov. 7, he complained of chest discomfort which prompted the PNP General Hospital to conduct a medical examination and based on that medical examination, it was found out that he had an irregular heartbeat that may be considered as life threatening,” PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said.
He was returned to the custodial facility on Nov. 16 after a Pasig court dismissed his camp's request for a hospital arrest.
Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as well as several charges under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
