Amok shot dead in Laguna

FAMY, Laguna â€“ A man was shot dead after he ran amuck and killed an individual and wounded three other persons in Barangay Tunhac here on Thursday morning, Nov. 21.

The victim was identified as Freddie Babaan.

Police said the unidentified suspect allegedly suffering from mental illness torched the nipa hut of Babaan.

Freddie and his brother Russel and neighbors Angelo Malasarte and Andy Melgar attempted to calm the suspect down but were attacked and wounded with a bladed weapon.

Police arrived and asked the suspect to calm down.

The suspect attacked police who shot and wounded him.

The victims and the suspect were taken to the hospital where Freddie and the suspect were declared dead.
