Rhian Ramos is set to star in a controversial girls' love movie opposite Glaiza de Castro entitled "I Fell, It's Fine," produced by Wide International Film Productions.
During a recent story conference at Deer Claus Restaurant in Timog, Quezon City, Rhian expressed her excitement for the project which she describes as "out of this world."
"It's out of this world. That's just what I want to say. I don't want to give details about the project pero kakaiba talaga siya," said Rhian when asked for the details of the upcoming movie. The film will be directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, who also directed the 2017 film "Kita Kita," the highest-grossing independent film in the Philippines.
Rhian added: "I have yet to see a love story like this. Feeling ko mauuna kami rito. We will shoot the movie early next year."
"I Fell It's Fine" is a reunion project for Rhian and Glaiza, who worked together in the Kapuso series "The Rich Man's Daughter" in 2015. In the series, Rhian falls in love with Glaiza.
"I'm very excited because ang dami ng dumaan na taon and I've been waiting for this project. It's our follow-up project. Actually hindi na siya follow-up, naging comeback na. This one is so special because it's a romantic story. It's the kind of story we've been waiting for.
"May konti rin kaming input sa movies about how we feel and what will happen to the story? Kung paano namin mabubuo yung mga character namin. That's just input is the world to us kasi whenever we do a project as actors, yun na rin ang way namin of connecting with people. Ang dami na namin pinagsamahan na projects ni Glaiza (de Castro) pero andyan pa rin sila," Rhian also said.
Even her boyfriend, Rep. Sam Verzosa, who is running for Manila mayor in 2025, pushed for the Rhian and Glaiza project together.
"Tuwang tuwa siya kasi nag meet kami altogether. Pumunta kami ni Glaiza sa Araneta City and sinundo ako ni Sam. We all hang out together. He's so happy we have a project together kasi noong nakita niya kami, sinabi na niya na dapat may project kaming dalawa.
"Alam niya yung 'Rich Man's Daughter.' Nababasa rin niya yung mga comments ng netizens na hinahanap nila si Glaiza. And then he said, 'Gets ko. Parang bagay kayo.' He's not jealous. Iba naman yun," Rhian said.
Rhian expressed that she is confident in her and her boyfriend's sexual orientation.
"He's very confident, and that's what I love about him. I'm a very confident girl, and we don't doubt each other's talaga. We do this to make each other feel sure and loved."
At the same event, Rhian talked about her girl crushes, falling in love with the same sex, and living with former Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee.
Rhian, 34, shared that she admires actress Iza Calzado as her girl crush.
"Girl crush? Marami. My longest-running girl crush is Iza Calzado. She knows that. I tell her all the time. Every time I see her, 'Ahhh, the beauty! Sino pa ba? I also love Jennifer Lawrence kasi ang tapang ng personality niya and I love it!" she said.
On Iza's reaction, Rhian said: "She's the sweetest person in the world, naman di ba? She's also malambing. She returns the compliment most of the time. But I think she's just polite."
Rhian said Michelle, who came out as bisexual in 2023, is her best friend.
When asked if Michelle courted her, Rhian laughed and answered: "Normal lang naman and never niya akong niligawan. Kaka-shoot lang namin ng GL episode for Magpakailanman. Hirap na hirap kami kasi tumitingin lang ako sa mukha niya natatawa na ako.
"Dramahan ito pero kapag nakikita namin ang isa't isa na umaarte natatawa kami. Tapos ang tawagan namin doon is mahal. Sinasabi pa lang namin yun nagtatawanan na kami kasi nakikita ko siya everyday.
"It's a challenge, but I love working with my friends. Hindi talaga ako ma-chika behind the scenes, but if my friends are there, okay lang naman," Rhian said.
Rhian mentioned that she and Michelle have been renting a house together for three years.
"We live together and nakikita namin yung nga imperfection namin sa isa't isa like if we had a bad day or not at our best. She saw me crying multiple times, and she knows all my secrets, and I know hers, I think. The key is that we are a group of girls who support each other and make sure we are treated right.
"We all became best friends during the pandemic, before the ending of the pandemic — short pa lang. We live together, and we are in our third year. We rent. Doon ko naaalala na three years na kami kasi yung kontrata sa rent. Third year na pala tayo," Rhian said.
Despite her beauty and charm, Rhian shared that she has never been pursued by a woman, even in her younger years. However, she believes that it is possible to fall in love with someone of the same sex.
"Anything is possible naman but it hasn't happened yet. It happens in the most unexpected time and way when you fall in love. Pero ako hindi ko na fo-foresee na like I started to become friends with someone and then in love ka na pala sa kanya.
"Lalo na kapag hindi ka naman naghahanap ng relationship at that time. But I think it's possible naman talaga eh.
"Pero wala pa talagang nanligaw sa akin na girl. So I don't know what it's like and need to see the difference. I don't know what the experience is," Rhian said.
