P683,400 shabu seized, 4 arrested in 2 police operations in Taguig


The police arrested four people and seized P683,400 worth of suspected shabu in two operations on Nov. 20 in Taguig. 

In Barangay Rizal, Taguig, personnel from the Taguig Police Substation 10 arrested three people for illegal gambling and illegal drugs during an anti-criminality campaign. 

The suspects, identified as alias Ricky, 48; alias Raymond, 24; and alias Aira, 24, were caught engaging in cara y cruz.

The police seized three P1 coins used for the gambling activity, bet money amounting to P573, and P100 designated as pot money. 

In addition, they also confiscated two plastic sachets containing shabu, weighing 50 grams with an estimated street value of P340,000. 

The drug evidence was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for further examination.

The police will file complaints for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 (illegal gambling) and Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against the suspects with the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.

Meanwhile, on P. Mariano Street in Barangay Ususan, the Taguig Police Drug Enforcement Unit arrested alias Clyde, 23, in a buy-bust operation.

During the operation, the police seized two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 50.5 grams valued at P343,400. They also confiscated buy-bust money consisting of a genuine P500 bill and 27 pieces of P1,000 boodle money. 

The suspect was apprehended after he sold the illegal drugs to an undercover police officer.

He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
