The OPPO Find X8 gives you a bang for your buck by delivering everything you expect from a flagship phone. It provides a phenomenal battery life, an amazing display, and an impressive AI-powered camera. People migrating from iPhone might also appreciate the similar design of the UI powered by ColorOS 15, OPPO’s Android 15 based skin. Even though I had a short amount of time with this device, it definitely caught my eye and made me consider using it as my daily driver.

The OPPO Find X8 features a 6.59” AMOLED display perfect for media consumption. With up to 4500 nits of peak brightness, it is bright enough to use even on a sunny day. The display supports up to 120Hz of refresh rate.  It also features an Adaptive Refresh Rate technology, which helps conserve battery power. For security, the phone offers three unlocking options:  password, facial recognition, and fingerprint.  The facial recognition is so fast that you might not even have the opportunity to scan your fingerprint when unlocking the screen.

The OPPO Find X8 also has a 5360mAh of battery.  This is more than enough to last a whole day of use.  From my experience, I had a full charge and by the end of the day, my battery level is still at 85%! Keep in mind though that I used it just for texting and getting some good photos.  I still need some time to check its efficiency when running demanding tasks such as games. The phone also comes with an 80W wired charger and it is also capable of 50W wireless charging.

One of the highlights of every smartphone is of course their camera.  The OPPO Find X8 has three lenses; specifically, a 50 MP, f/1.8, 24mm for the wide lens, a 50 MP, f/2.6, 73mm periscope telephoto lens, and a 50 MP, f/2.0, 15mm, 120˚ ultrawide lens.  Although I am not an expert when it comes to cameras, I can still appreciate a good quality camera.

The only thing I don’t like, even in other phones, is the AI telescope zoom. While some may argue that it’s better than not having it at all, it still falls short.  When zooming in around the 10x range, you can see an improvement in quality compared to a digitally zoomed photo.  However, you can still notice how much AI has processed the image by smoothing out the obvious pixels especially when you zoom in on the photo.

Out of the box, the OPPO Find X8 is powered by the latest ColorOS 15 by OPPO, their own proprietary Android 15.   I love the use of gestures and  I really am fond of its convenience.

One of the things I am mainly looking for in a mobile device is its capability when it comes to playing games and I can strongly say, that the OPPO Find X8 won’t disappoint you. I tried three games, namely Call of Duty: Mobile, Honkai Star Rail, and Pokémon TCG Pocket just for the fun of it.  Powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400, it runs 60FPS with max settings across all games tested.  The phone didn’t heat up much.  Perfect for those who spend long hours of game time.

The OPPO Find X8 has all the features of a high-end flagship phone.  Although there are still features I have yet to explore such as the AI capability for photo editing,  the OPPO Find X8 could just be the right phone for anyone.  This, I am sure.  It will definitely find a permanent spot in my pocket for my daily use.
