Alohi Robins-Hardy to serve as assistant coach for UP women's volleyball team

Fil-American setter Alohi Robins-Hardy will embark on a new chapter in her career, this time as an assistant coach of the University of the Philippines women's volleyball team, the school announced Wednesday, Nov. 20.

The 28-year-old playmaker has been tasked to join the Fighting Maroons' sidelines for the UAAP Season 87 tournament which is set early next year.

Beaming with experience and skills, Robins-Hardy's addition is going to be a huge boost for the Diliman-based squad, especially in guiding rising star and setter Heart Magsombol.

She will also team up with UP's new head coach Benson Bocboc, who will lead the Final Four-aspiring Maroons who have veterans Nina Ytang, Nica Celis, and Irah Jaboneta along with new talents in the likes of Kianne Olango, Yesha Noceja, and Jothea Mae Ramos.

Robins-Hardy returned to the country expecting to suit up for the Farm Fresh Foxies in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

However, she was refused to compete in the league, noting she must undergo the draft.

The Waimānalo, Hawaii native started her stint on Philippine soil way back in 2019 where she won the PSL Best Setter award while also having silver and bronze honors with the Cignal HD Spikers in two conferences.
