Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan immediately responded to an accident involving a 67-year-old tricycle driver and his passenger while she was on her way to Manila City Hall on Natividad Lopez Street in Ermita, Manila.

The mayor, who is also a doctor, alighted from her vehicle and immediately administered first aid to both the driver and his passenger.

She was assisted by members of the Medical Response Team of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) and the Manila Health Department (MHD).

The mayor had just come from a speaking engagement when the accident happened.

MDRRMO head Arnel Angeles said the tricycle was involved in a head-on collision with a sedan.

The tricycle driver complained of injuries on the upper left portion of his body and left leg after his tricycle landed on top of him due to the impact of the collision.

Meanwhile, the 50-year-old female passenger sustained wounds in the left arm.

They were both given first aid before they were carried by the MDRRMO ambulance to the nearest hospital for further treatment.

The mayor also lauded and thanked the MDRRMO and MHD for their quick response and called on the public, particularly motorists, to exercise extra caution on the road to avoid accidents.
