Man dies, back rider hurt in All Souls' Day motorcycle crash

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A man died and his back rider was injured in a motorcycle accident in Barangay Bulanao here on All Souls’ Day.

Police Master Sgt. Prodencio Atas, spokesperson of the Tabuk City police station, identified the fatality as Jener Tega Viernas, motorcycle driver.

Investigation disclosed that Viernas’ motorcycle was about to turn left when a Toyota Hilux pickup truck accidentally hit them.

Viernas died on the spot and back rider Clay Lammawin, 18, was injured and taken to a hospital.

Police recovered five small heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu from the fatality’s wallet.

The driver and passengers of the pickup truck were unhurt. Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
