This week keep your eyes peeled as HONOR is about the launch the Magic V3, their newest foldable smartphone.
Stephen Cheng, vice president of HONOR Philippines, said: “We’re excited to introduce HONOR’s slimmer and stronger foldable phone. Its premium design offers more than what meets the eye, and we can’t wait to reveal it on November 20.”
The HONOR Magic V3 is 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.35mm when unfolded. HONOR makes claims that this is the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone and weighs at 226g. Not bad for a foldable smartphone. HONOR also claims that it features Super Armored Screen, which, they say, is five times more wear resistant.
It’s rated IPX8, making it resistant to water up to 2.5 meters. This means it handle a few splashes and some spills, but it is not meant for a swim. However, if it accidentally falls into a filled bathtub, there’s a chance it’ll be okay.
It’s also got what HONOR calls Titanium Hinge with Anti-Overheat Technology, which they say reduces the weight of the hinge by 40%. I'm not sure how significant that is, considering the previous Magic V2 weighed about 237g. In any case, the anti-overheat feature should help improve performance.
Unfolded: A stunning 7.92-inch LTPO display, offering a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and support for the HONOR Magic Pen.
Folded: A 6.43-inch external screen with 5000 nits peak brightness and an ultra-low-power LTPO display designed for comfort and efficiency.
Google is working to get AI in Android phones. HONOR, by the heart of it, is an Android device, so it is expected to get all the nifty AI stuff. This includes AI Face-to-Face Translation, AI Professional Portrait Mode with Harcourt Studio lighting effects, AI Erase, and Eyes Closed Optimization.
There are also AI Features for Productivity & Convenience including that consumers will enjoy: Magic Capsule, Air Gesture, Drag-to-Note, Travel Assistance, and Shopping AI.
HONOR Magic V3 sports an AI Falcon Camera System empowering users with industry-leading imaging technology: Triple Rear Camera Setup: 40MP Ultra-Wide, 50MP Wide (f/1.6, OIS), and 50MP Telephoto with 100x digital zoom. Dual Front Cameras: 20MP wide lenses on both the interior and exterior screens. Advanced video modes include 4K recording, EIS+OIS stabilization, and creative options like Night Mode, Panorama, Super Macro, and Slow-Mo.
