Angono’s Higantes Festival 2024 to push through on Nov. 24

The Art Capital of the Country has rescheduled the town’s biggest festival, the Higantes and Arts Festival 2024 to Sunday, Nov. 24.

Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon announced that the grand parade that will feature some 200 giants popularly known as the "higantes" will push through following its cancellation on Nov. 17 due to Super Typhoon Pepito.

Calderon explained that the grand parade, which has been a tradition in the municipality for many years now, has been a much-awaited event every year during the third Sunday of November, which was supposed to happen on Nov. 17, but the bad weather had prompted the municipal government to cancel all the activities due to Pepito.

The municipal government said all other major activities, including the celebration of the feast day in honor of the town’s patron saint, Pope Saint Clement on November 23, will take place as scheduled.

Other festival-related events are the parade of brass bands on Nov. 22 and the exhibit of arts at SM Center Angono until November 30.

Outside SM Center Angono, some of the higantes which are sponsored by the mall are on display during the festival month.
