South Cotabato Rep. Peter Bascon Miguel has offered a P1-million reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the gunman of Tantangan, South Cotabato vice mayoral bet Jose Osorio.
Osorio was shot dead in the family-owned eatery on Monday, Nov. 18.
Investigation said gunshots were heard and relatives later found the victim sprawled inside his family’s roadside eatery.
Police recovered six spent shells from the crime scene.
Miguel said he hopes that the reward would fast-track justice for Osorio.
Police said they are conducting follow-up investigation.
The victim was a former chairman of Barangay Bukay Pait and a candidate under the slate of former Mayor Benjamin Figueroa.
Relatives said Osorio had no known enemies and well-regarded in his community.
The victim served three consecutive terms as barangay chairman.
