The suspension of the Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence took effect at 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 15 and will end at 11:59 on Nov. 21.

An order from Camp Crame in Quezon City said only personnel of the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and law enforcement agencies are allowed to carry firearms while the PTCFOR is suspended.

The suspension aims to ensure the peaceful conduct of the event participated in by Supreme Court justices from 14 Southeast Asian nations.

The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) deployed at least 1,500 security personnel to secure the event.

Seven-hundred forty-one are from the PRO-7 and the remaining are from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Regional Maritime Unit, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Traffic Management System, and civilian anti-crime volunteers.

PRO-7 chief Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin reminded security personnel to ensure zero incident during the international activity.
