The local government of Malabon distributed aid to 362 individuals who took temporary shelter in evacuation centers in the city.

According to Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, they conducted a preemptive evacuation for typhoon Pepito over the weekend.
They took 95 families in six evacuation centers situated in Barangays Panghulo, Dampalit, Maysilo, Tinajeros, Longos, and San Agustin.

They also provided hot meals to evacuees and ensured their health and safety as the storm passed through mainland Luzon.

"Agad po tayong nagpadala ng hot meals at siniguro na maayos ang kalagayan ng mga pamilyang nasa evacuation centers para sa kanilang kapakanan at kalusugan habang nananatili roon. Makakaasa po kayong tayo ay magpapaabot pa ng tulong sa mga residenteng lumikas kasabay ng Bagyong Pepito (We immediately sent hot meals and made sure that the families in the evacuation centers were accommodated, ensuring their well-being and health while staying there. You can count on us to extend help to the residents who were displaced by Typhoon Pepito),” Sandoval said.

Relief packs were also distributed to families who remained in the evacuation centers on Monday.

During the onslaught of the typhoon, Metro Manila was placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2.

Apart from the preemptive evacuation efforts, the Malabon LGU pre-positioned 14 rescue boats, 13 modular tents, and three response vehicles including the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office tanker, a truck, a troop carrier, four ambulances, and activated 13 evacuation centers.

Around 170 city government personnel reported on duty to assist in the disaster response operations. The LGU also prepared 200 food packs and hygiene kits as well as medicine supplies.

To prevent flooding, the local government ensured all the pumping stations were operating.

The lady mayor and the Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office monitored the situation from the Command and Communication Center.

“Nakakatuwa na makita na ang mga Malabueño ay nakilahok sa pre-emptive evacuation na ating isinagawa. Sa ganitong paraan ay masisiguro natin ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa bago pa man dumating ang kalamidad. Kaya naman ang  tanging hiling namin sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan ay ang patuloy na partisipasyon at koordinasyon sa mga panahong tulad nito para sa inyong kapakanan (It was great to see that the Malabueños participated in the pre-emptive evacuation that we conducted. This way we can ensure everyone's safety before the calamity comes. We request to all our Malabueños your continued participation and coordination in times like this for your safety),” she said.
