Laborer yields P14-M shabu in Tacloban drug sting


TACLOBAN CITY – Suspected shabu worth over P14 million was seized from a construction worker in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 62-B here on Monday, Nov. 18.

Police identified the suspect as Jade, 38, a high-value individual and a top regional priority target for illegal drugs.

Jade was nabbed after he sold a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

The suspect yielded a total of 42 sachets of shabu weighing more or less two kilograms and P81,500 cash.

The operation was conducted by the Tacloban City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit with the City Intelligence Unit and the Regional Intelligence Division in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The suspect was taken to the Tacloban City Police Office Custodial Facility. He faces drug-related charges.
