ILOILO CITY – More than 100 mayors and high-ranking officials from Asia are in this city for the 44th Executive Committee Meeting of CityNet, the largest association of urban stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific committed to sustainable development.

“This platform inspires collaboration, innovation, and transformative solutions that will benefit our communities and future generations. Together, let us continue working towards a brighter and more sustainable future,” said acting Mayor Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon here at the opening ceremonies on Monday, Nov. 18.
Iloilo City hosted this year’s meeting after Mayor Jerry Treñas, who is on prolonged medical leave, attended the meeting last year in South Korea.
The Philippines is represented by Mayors Abby Binay of Makati City, Ruffy Biazon of Muntinlupa City, Ronnie Dadivas of Roxas City, and Joseph George Lechonsito of Tacurong City.
Also in attendance are mayors from Fiji, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and officials from Yokohama, Japan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Participants will share their experiences on urban management.
“This diverse delegation reflects the importance of multi-lateral collaboration in addressing complex urban challenges,” said Youngmin Chang, CityNet Programs Director.
Habitat for Humanity will share valuable insights on sustainable housing and community resilience.
