Four Japanese linked to telecom fraud deported


Four Japanese were deported by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for their alleged involvement in telecommunication fraud that was allegedly operating in Cambodia.

The four Japanese were escorted by BI agents at around 7:30 a.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 for their flight back to Japan. The BI said the Japanese will be accompanied by Japanese authorities.

BI agents said the alleged leader of the group, 43-year old Sawada Masaya, was collared at the NAIA Terminal 3 after arriving from Cebu. 

The three others were arrested in a follow-up operation in Parañaque City. They were identified as Suzuki Seiji, 29; Koji Ueda, 27, and, Jun Kiyohara, 29.
