Initial reports said that the truck hit the two motorcycles in front of it while traveling along the eastbound lane of Lanuza Avenue corner Ortigas Avenue at around 4:30 a.m.

Due to the impact, the truck overturned, causing rice sacks to spill and trap the motorcycles beneath.

Authorities immediately responded and rescued two men, a woman, and the child who were trapped underneath the sacks. They were brought to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities added that they are continuing to check if there are other injured individuals trapped under the sacks of rice.

As of 7 a.m., the traffic in the area remains heavy due to the difficulty in removing the truck from the road.

Meanwhile, the truck driver and his assistant are in the custody of Pasig police for further investigation.
