CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police recovered marijuana valued at P13.3 million following an accident in Purok 4, Barangay Bone South, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya on Saturday.
Police Brig. Gen. Antonio P. Marallag Jr., Cagayan Valley region police director, said a vehicle rammed a concrete barrier at about 3 p.m.
Responding police officers noticed the occupants removing sacks from the vehicle, prompting them to conduct an inspection.
Lawmen opened the sacks and found 111 dried marijuana bricks valued at P13.3 million.
The suspected drug couriers were identified as Francis, 24; Monier, 21, and Yas, a wanted individual.
Marallag commended police for their achievement. “The key for successful eradication of illegal drugs is the strong collaboration between the residents and the police authorities,” he said.
Marallag said the suspects are under police custody and face drug-related charges.
