Distressed women, children to benefit from Log Cake for a Cause in Davao City


DAVAO CITY – Hundreds of young women, children in conflict with the law, and abused and exploited children being taken care of by the Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights will benefit from the Log Cake for a Cause initiated by the Park Inn by Radisson here.

Tambayan is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization that works in partnership with Adolescent Girls on the Street and Children in Need of Special Protection here through its various programs and services. 

It aims to address issues about adolescent girls found wandering around the streets, children in conflict with the law, and abused and exploited children through their comprehensive programs and holistic approach.

The Park Inn by Radisson launched its Log Cake for a Cause in partnership with Tambayan Center during its Christmas tree-lighting ceremony dubbed “Woodland Whispers: A Rustic Christmas,” along with the tagline, “Sharing the warmth of Christmas,” on Friday night, Nov. 15.

Park Inn by Radisson Davao General Manager Sven Toune said the log cake was curated by their kitchen and F&D team that is perfect for gifts or giveaways for the upcoming Yuletide season. He added that part of the proceeds will be donated to Tambayan.

“The Tambayan does invaluable work, supporting those vulnerable adolescent girls and children in need of special protection, safe spaces, and support to improve their life path and flourish into a great citizen of the community. The initiative will bring warm smiles to them,” Toune said.

SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation Senior Vice President for Operations Cathy Nepomuceno, who welcomed the guests of the event, announced plans and new products designed to elevate guest experience at the hotel.

Nepomuceno thanked people who joined them in celebrating Christmas. She said that the lighting of the Christmas tree marks a special moment, emphasizing hope, unity, and love, this Yuletide season.

Department of Tourism-11 Regional Director Tanya Rabat-Tan wished everyone a meaningful Christmas in her speech. She also encouraged everyone to be grateful and continue to share love and blessings to one other.
