CEBU CITY – The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) on Friday deployed 781 lawmen to secure the 11th Meeting of the Council of Association of Southeast Asian Nations Chief Justices and ASEAN Law Association in Lapu-Lapu City from Nov. 18 to 21.
They are complemented by 821 personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Regional Maritime Unit, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and City Traffic Management System (CTMS).
Anti-crime volunteers from Task Force Kasaligan were also tapped to secure the event.
“I expect a zero incident record throughout the meeting. Let us do our part to exemplify Philippine hospitality and security,” Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, chief of PRO-7, said during their send-off ceremony at the Mactan Shrine.
Aberin urged them to demonstrate to the delegates “the nation’s competence, reliability, and commitment to the success of the event.”
The activity will be attended by Supreme Court Justices from 14 nations in Southeast Asia.
The CACJ, formerly known as the ASEAN Chief Justices Meeting that started in August 2013,will tackle issues affecting ASEAN judiciaries.
