Bulacan government prepares for Typhoon 'Pepito'

The Provincial Government of Bulacan along with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) conducted a meeting in preparation for Typhoon “Pepito” on Saturday, November 16.

During the meeting, Provincial Governor Daniel Fernando, Vice Governor Alex Castro and personnel from the PDRRMO stressed urgent preparedness needed for manpower, equipment, and logistics to be fully operational.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Bulacan placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2, as of 2 p.m.

PDRRMO Head Manuel Lukban Jr., alerted the residents of Doña Remedios Trinidad, San Miguel, Norzagaray, San Jose Del Monte City, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, Baliuag City, Bustos, Santa Maria, Bocaue, Marilao, Meycauayan City, Obando, Balagtas, Angat, and Pandi.

Lukban also confirmed that police and military personnel are on high alert, with response teams stationed at the Bulacan Emergency Rescue Office command post.

Meanwhile, the residents in Hagonoy, Paombong, Calumpit, and Malolos City are preparing for possible flooding due to a predicted 4.07-foot high tide, which could exacerbate conditions with heavy rains.

Fernando urged all Bulakenyos to remain vigilant and reach out to the Provincial Chief Executive's office or the PDRRMC for assistance.

"We must all stay alert and take care of one another during these times," he said.

He also urged residents to stay informed through the official weather advisories and take necessary precautions to prioritize their safety.
