CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A has deployed 874 police personnel to ensure public safety and security and conduct search and rescue operations as super typhoon “Pepito” approached the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area on Saturday night.
Police Regional Office 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas said preemptive evacuation operations across the region have been conducted to safeguard residents.
Lucas said 4,863 families or 17,444 individuals have sought shelter in 86 evacuation centers across the region.
The PRO 4-A has deployed 520 mobility assets, 3,327 communications equipment, and eight watercraft and rubber boats to address potential flooding and facilitate swift evacuation and rescue operations.
Lucas underscored the commitment of the PNP to public safety and urged the public to cooperate with authorities, stay vigilant, and follow official advisories on Pepito.
