Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday, Nov. 15, described her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, as "the best dramatic actor" when he attended the recent House hearing where he lost his cool.

After the recent quad-committee hearing that investigated former president Duterte's war on drugs, where the former leader also attended, the Vice President said her father asked her about his performance.

The Vice President said she would rate her father as "12" on a scale of 1 to 10, and would describe him as "the best dramatic actor."

"Kayo na lang umintindi [kung bakit]. Nakita nyo nanan sa ginagawa nya eh (Just think about why. You already saw what he did that time)," she told reporters after the 89th founding anniversary celebration of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

The former president lost his temper, particularly after his fierce critic, former senator Antonio Trillanes, showed bank documents and "paper trails" that showed how the Duterte family allegedly benefited from the illegal drug trade in the country.

Former president Duterte asked if he could slap Trillanes if he would sign a waiver that would allow the committee to check his bank accounts; and attempted to throw the microphone to Trillanes.

Duterte also gestured to punch his another fierce critic, former senator Leila de Lima, who was seated beside him during the hearing.

On the other hand, the Vice President said she attended the House hearing because her father's assistants asked her to do so.

"Usually kasi hindi sya nakikinig sa mga kasama nya. So humingi sila ng tulong sakin na pagsabihan [sya] (He would not usually listen to his companions. So they asked for my help to talk to him)," she said.

The Vice President said her father could have experienced low-blood sugar level during the recent hearing because his last meal that day was taken in the early morning.

"Nagpaalam ako na e-excuse nalang sya. But ayaw nya. Pero naniwala naman sya noong sinabihan namin sya na kumain na muna sya (I asked the committee if he could be excused, but my father did not want to. So what we did was just ask him to eat, and he listened)," she said.

Meanwhile, the Vice President said she would skip the November 20 House hearing on the OVP's confidential fund use because it would be a waste of time.

She said that when she first attended the same hearing, she was only made to sit for hours and was not asked questions.

So, instead, she will only submit a letter and an affidavit about the confidential fund for the next hearing.

"Under oath din naman ‘yang affidavit na ‘yan (The affidavit was also under oath)," she said.
